Tomáš Langer

For more than 16 years Tomáš has been specializing in litigation, legal matters concerning intellectual property, media, advertising, real estate and company law. He also has extensive experience in the contractual agenda. Tomáš has represented prominent media clients in dozens of cases concerning protection of personality rights and protection of reputation and good name of legal entities.

He is also specializing in defending clients against high-profile reputational attacks in online media outlets and social networks.

Tomáš also publishes and lectures, in particular on the protection of personality rights and freedom of expression.

Prior to joining MCL, Tomáš worked at the Paul Q law firm.

Representing the largest Slovak television broadcaster in more than 50 lawsuits concerning protection of personality rights, protection of reputation and good name of legal entities and the right to correction under the Act on Broadcasting and Retransmission. Representation in proceedings before the Council for Broadcasting and Retransmission and before administrative courts. Representing the client in civil law disputes for the payment of promissory notes in the total value of 69 million euros, as well as in criminal proceedings in the position of the injured party.

Representing the major Slovak publishing house Petit Press, a.s. at all levels of the Slovak court system in more than 50 lawsuits related primarily to the freedom of expression, including representation before the Constitutional Court and before the European Court of Human Rights.

Representing the largest Slovak publishing house in lawsuits related to unfair competition, damage compensation, copyright and the obligation to publish a correction and response under the Press Act.

Representing a water supply company in proceedings for compensation of material damage worth several million euros in a dispute over the ownership of critical infrastructure.

Long-term legal advice to a multinational company in the agricultural sector on real estate acquisitions, including due diligence, preparation of transaction documentation and assisting in negotiations. Representing the client in several real estate lawsuits.

Advising a leading global cyber security company, on protection of reputation and good name of the company in several lawsuits, including analysis of possible means of protection and procedures.

Representing several public figures against reputational attacks on online media outlets and social media, as well as representing them in criminal proceedings in the position of injured parties.
